Spring is on its way, and with all of these gorgeous floral pieces flooding the fashion scene, it can't get here soon enough! Right now I am lusting after all things SPRING- straw totes, floral prints, eyelet detail, soft color pallets. I wanted to share a few of my inspiration pieces for the arrival of Spring and a few items I must get my hands on (like that hat! I'm a sucker for a good straw hat). Granted I cannot fit into any of the clothing items because of my growing belly (28 weeks! ahhhhh) but hey, a girl can still be inspired by romantic prints and stock up on her "post-baby wardrobe", can't she? :) Have an amazing rest of your week all of my Holland & Mint followers! xo

Style Envy: Olivia Palermo
I am just swooning over Olivia Palermo's style! I've always been a fan of hers, but recently I've found myself going to her for style inspiration. She continuously looks so put together and can create such an amazing, classic look that is timeless yet still all her own at the same time. Whether she's dressed up for a fashion show or dressed down in a pair of trainers to grab some coffee, she is always looking polished, classic, and on trend. I admire Olivia's style, and girl is never afraid to accessorize! To pull off a classic Olivia Palermo look you can start with a pair of super chic flats, paired with a fun yet feminine A-line skirt and a classic denim button up. Now don't forget to accessorize, just like Olivia Palermo is a pro at doing, with some Westward Leaning x Olivia Palermo shades. Voila! Now you're ready to be on page six's best dressed list!

The Beach Bag
I'm leaving for Cabo soon, and it has me looking through all my beach bags to pick a few for the trip. I'm always on the hunt for the perfect beach bag. I love going to the beach but of course I need a large tote to carry all of my necessities in there- sunscreen, reading material, hat, phone, coverup, baby toys & food, etc. That's why finding the right bag for my lifestyle is a pretty big deal!
There are so many routes you can go- the raffia basket, the classic canvas tote, or the designer bag (or one of my favorite ways-right off the beach from a vender- you just gotta haggle a little bit!) I usually opt for the natural woven bag with some sort of simple print or detail on it or a canvas tote (I find them to be pretty durable with all the wear and tear I put them through with a baby and everything I end up throwing inside it. But, no matter which route you end up going, they are all so chic and fantastic in their own way! Why not have hundreds and just change them with your swimsuit/look? That sounds good to me! Below are a few of my favorites!

Simply Scalloped
The slight detail of a delicate scallop is just stunning. I find the scallop to create a huge impact on the look of any one item- it can be on the hem of a top, along the edge of a bathing suit, around some ordinary tan flats, or down the buttons of a button up top. Wherever it may be, a scallop is a sophisticated, subtle detail that really speaks volumes. I love the classic look and how it adds a feminine quality to a plain tee or to a pair of simple navy shorts.

Going Gaga Over Gingham
It's Thursday and we are all getting over colds over on our end. As soon as someone starts feeling better, another one of us comes down with the sniffles. It's a sick cycle we are hoping breaks soon. We're just working on getting healthy with lots of tea & rest (Echinacea Throat Coat tea & Earl Grey are my favs at the moment!). But on a lighter note, I wanted to share a look that I've been seeing a lot of lately all over street style & online shopping sites: Gingham!
I believe it was in 'The Wizard of Oz' where I first set my eyes on gingham. Dorothy set the trend with her beautiful blue gingham dress, and now this trend is back in full throttle. It reminds me of a "throwback" to a classic pin up girl or hollywood starlet such as Brigitte Bardot. It doesn't really get better than that, does it?? It comes in many sizes (large blocks, medium, tiny, etc.), and many colors (blue, navy, black, red, pink, gray, etc.) While continuously delivering its message of classic sophistication.
If you think the look is too pretty or dainty, you can pair it with some ripped jeans or a leather jacket- just to harden it up a bit. But if you prefer the soft look, then simple ballet flats and a braid will pull this look together perfectly. It's such a great spring piece- I know I'm going to have to add some gingham to my wardrobe stat. How about you?? Do you lust after the look of gingham?? Would love to hear how you like to wear it!
Peplum Tank Top | Bustier Off Shoulder Top | Hair Tie | Bikini Top | Bikini Bottom | Ruffle Skirt | Maxi Cover Up Dress | Mug Set | Boy Shirt in Two-Tone | Motorcycle Jacket | Off Shoulder Top | Frill Detail Top | Ballet Flats
Here is Brigitte Bardot & Audrey Hepburn (two of my all time favorite women) caught wearing gingham on more than one occasion. They are both just absolutely gorgeous and so sophisticated. Not to mention, the epitome of classic old hollywood!

Not your Average NYE Looks
It's almost New Years Eve and that had me thinking...What am I going to wear?? It's easy to just put on any old dress and call it a day, or night. But it's even more fun to stand out on New Years with a fun, different outfit that not everyone is wearing! Below are a few of my favorite celebration outfits and how I'd put them together in real life! Ooooh the possibilities! Which is your favorite? Have any fun plans for the 31st? xo
This look is so amazing! I love mixing a delicate top with fur and leather pants! It feels a little bit pretty and a little bit rock & roll. The pointy, black boots and the gorgeous sequined clutch really add some chic details. This look says you tried, but not too hard. It impresses and says you don't do what everyone else does. You will for sure stand out and be the queen of the ball with this look! Plus if the weather is super chilly, then you'll be so happy you wore pants! Cheers!
Like I said before, everyone can just throw on an old dress, but when you turn that dress into a look that could come straight out of Vogue, well then you're onto something! This look is so glam that I cannot get over it! This long, flowing, low-cut dress is so sophisticated and when its paired with simple heels and delicate necklace, that's perfection. I also like the black clutch that just screams, fashionista! It stands out and gives the look a little edge. This look is for sure one of the best looks out there and will get you noticed from miles, if not light years, away!
This is such a fun look because unlike the classic New Years dress, its a sweater and skirt combo! It's so adorable and classic, I just love it! You will for sure stand out just with this bag alone ( I mean...WHITE....FUR...., do I need to say more?) This look reminds me of Paris and sophistication. Plus, there are so many ways you can go with this- you can try a puffy skirt paired with a tight turtleneck sweater, or a bandage leather skirt with a loose, jeweled sweater like the one pictured above. Also, depending on the weather, tights are always a great way to finish off this look. Such a gorgeous outfit for ringing in the New Year!

Going Nude: Just Do It
Shop:
My new favorite shoes! For some reason I am such a tennis shoe fanatic! I think because I spend most of my time running after my son, running errands and plain old running around trying to get a workout. My feet just can't handle being in heels for too long, let alone being in sandals with no support for hours on end.
I was on that all black shoe hype for a bit- but I was craving a change! When I saw these beauties I just had to have them! Nude heels make your legs look longer, so why can't nude nike's do the same? :)
I am in love with the tan color and they are made of a soft, leathery material which makes them so chic & yummy in my book! I can where them with my workout clothes around town, or even with some dark washed jeans, a white tee, and a black leather jacket in the city! I adore them!
What shoes do you wear all day? Which brand are you a fan of? Nike's? Adidas? Vans? Etc.? Would love to hear! Have an amazing Friday! xox

Hi! I wanted to post a couple of my recent outfits for you all! I just can't believe how quickly time is flying by! Halloween is over and Thanksgiving will be here before we know it. We've had a couple of cool days here in Northern California scattered between all the hot days, where I was able to sport a sweater, jacket, scarf, and boots- so exciting! I can't wait for my fall/winter wardrobe to be in full effect! Our family walks have been a regular occurrence, which I love! That's definitely my favorite way to workout- it doesn't seem like a workout because I'm enjoying family time and my hubby and I love looking at all the beautiful houses (we imagine our dream house-and everything we'll have in our dream home one day-what can I say? We are dreamers with our heads in the clouds :) ). I hope you all are having a great start to your weeks. Happy Monday! xo, Alida

Mad About Plaid
What I'm Wearing:
Hat: J.Crew
Tee: T by Alexander Wang
Plaid Shirt: Rails
Pants: Rag & Bone/Jean
Shoes: Vans
Bag: Balenciaga
Ring: Konstantino
It's hard to get excited about something on a Monday- but it is possible! I couldn't wait to post one of my favorite laid back looks on the blog. This look starts with something so simple- a basic, long sleeve tee and black jeans. The best way to change up this look for fall is to pair this ensemble with a plaid shirt around the waist (all the rage this season), a hat with leather detail, and some insanely gorgeous rose gold Vans. These add-ons take a simple look to a whole other level. I like to top off most of my looks with a nice designer bag. My Balenciaga was perfect for this outfit because its hardware is rose gold just like my tennies and the blue/gray color matches the plaid shirt to a T. I love the almost "grunge" look the plaid shirt gives this outfit-and the shoes...oh the shoes...I'm just in love with them. They are the most unique color of tennis shoes I've ever seen! I have a feeling this will be one of my "OOTD" ("outfit of the day") looks a lot this fall. What will your fall uniform be? xox
